Drawing inspiration from the example of her entrepreneurial and artistic family, Ms. Asterino felt compelled to pursue a similar path. Having previously worked as a science teacher and, then, as a special education supervisor, she later reoriented her career ambitions toward alternative methods of healing after a car accident forced the end of her professional journey in education. Due to the adverse reactions she had from various medications required for her injuries, she sought a number of alternatives before settling on energy balancing and integration. Upon discovering her intrinsic abilities, Ms. Asterino has immersed herself in the field ever since. Started as a focus for her own healing, she became interested in, and explored, various mystery schools which resulted in community work via energy to hospice settings, half-way houses, and in church settings.
Noting the need for cultural modifications while caregiving for her mother, Ms. Asterino embarked on another journey in life and became involved in volunteer public access television work, during which time she produced programs that allowed her to share her own experiences and, long term, make other voices heard. Years later, she moved to an island that had a radio station, where she now produces shows and, also, continues a lifelong love of writing. In the past decade, Ms. Asterino has authored books, now out of print, along with her newest book, "Pathways: Walking Through Creation." Past works were in the arena of speaking to her brain injury and the subjects of caregiving and her first attempt at poetry publication. Over the years, she has earned an Associate of Arts in humanities from Stephens College, a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Findlay, and a Master of Arts in theory and practice of education from Ohio State University. She has taken courses in transpersonal and expanded consciousness awareness.
In light of her outstanding breadth of work, Ms. Asterino has been honored on numerous occasions. In recent years, she earned recognition for "Pathways: Walking Through Creation" as well as a Community Impact Award from the American Red Cross. She has acknowledged her great good fortune in having met many courageous pathfinders during her lifetime. She believes that truth and justice from the ground up will build a better future.
