An expert in family practice, Ms. Robinson has been a dedicated nurse practitioner for more than 30 years. Prior to beginning her private career, she served honorably as a flight nurse for the United States Air Force from 1987 to 1990. As a result of her exceptional service, Ms. Robinson was granted a scholarship by the United States Air Force to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing.
To prepare for her career, Ms. Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University in 1986 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Emory University in 1993. Well-qualified in her profession, she is a certified family nurse practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. While achieving her educational goals, she became an intensive care unit nurse at Emory University until graduation from Emory University with honors. She then accepted a position as a nurse practitioner for a private practice clinic in 1994.
Following this position, Ms. Robinson worked for Fayette Medical Clinic for eight years before returning to private clinics until 2006. She further worked as a nurse practitioner for Charlotte Medical Clinic until 2011, at which point she was recruited by a neurologist and relocated to Jacksonville, North Carolina from May of 2011 to January of 2014 to work in neurology. In addition to her primary career, Ms. Robinson served as a professor at Queens University of Charlotte from 2009 to 2011.
In 2014, Ms. Robinson continued her career as a family nurse practitioner for the urology department at Wilmington Health PLL. During this time, she completed a rural health initiative with Wilmington Health, the first rural health clinic set-up in the country. Since October 2021, she has provided her expertise as a family nurse practitioner to Island Family Medicine. In this capacity, she works in value-based care, seeing sick and well patients of all ages. She performs hormone replacement procedures and Testopel implants while treating patients for diabetes, hypertension, COPD, chronic stable illness, pneumonia and other illnesses. Ms. Robinson also assists with men's and women's health, managing medication administration and educating patients as needed.
Looking to the future, Ms. Robinson is interested in preceptorship and the mentorship to others in the field of medicine and nursing.
