Supported by years of considerable knowledge in parasitology, mycology and quality control, Ms. Jones excels today as microbiology supervisor for The Brooklyn Hospital Center. Since joining the hospital in 2018, she has been involved in the method validation of molecular machines for blood cultures, remained in charge of inventory and supervised the delivery of laboratory specimens to Albany. From 2009 until 2018, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a medical laboratory scientist for New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Jones earned a bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science with a minor in chemistry from St. John's University in 2009. To remain aware of developments affecting her field, she aligns herself with the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science and was previously a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Outside of her main career path, she volunteers her time by sharing her faith with others as a Jehovah's Witness.
In a career filled with highlights, Ms. Jones is most proud of her evaluation work with The Brooklyn Hospital Center. Initially, the microbiology laboratory at the facility was under technical watch, but through her diligence, the department is currently operating efficiently. Looking toward the future, Ms. Jones intends to remain open to new but similar opportunities at a different hospital and also aims to further her education in order to become a more versatile industry professional.
