An expert in helping people trade their stocks, Mr. Poe has been a professional broker for more than 20 years. Prior to starting his private career, he served honorably as a command pilot, systems engineer and B-52 and missiles systems manager for the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1977. He was awarded two Meritorious Service Medals for his work with missiles and for serving as a SRAM systems manager. He was also honored with a Distinguished Flying Cross and eight air medals. During his service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1963. He subsequently attained a master's degree from San Diego State University.
Following his military service, Mr. Poe started his career as the executive director for the Oklahoma City Housing Authority in 1977. In 1981, he became the owner of his company, Joe E. Poe and Associates, Inc., until 2013. He continued his career as a branch manager and registered representative for several broker dealers until 2016 when he started his present role with the Wilson Davis Company. In this capacity, he handles the majority of trading within the office, working with penny stock clients who have purchased large blocks of stocks from issuers. The firm serves more than 200 clients who are made aware of the requirements that are necessary prior to trading their acquisitions.
Known for his contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Mr. Poe serves as a board member for Infant Crisis Services in Oklahoma City and is a chairman for the Midwest City Economic Development Commission. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue working in his current role until he is able to transition his work to his sons. He is also assisting his grandchildren as they pursue their futures in education.
