Prior to founding Alpha Realty, Mr. Mavashev worked at Besen & Associates, a leading national real estate firm in New York City. As the company's managing director of investment-sales for five years, he focused his business on multifamily properties and developed his own team of associates, who specialized in multifamily and distressed asset sales throughout Brooklyn and the Bronx. Prior to working in real estate, Mr. Mavashev served as an investment banking analyst for Merrill Lynch between 2004 and 2006. He subsequently worked for two years as a certified public accountant for Deloitte & Touche (now Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC).
Mr. Mavashev has been published in numerous publications highlighting his success, including the New York Real Estate Journal and the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal, The New York Times, and Crain's New York Business. He also published an article in Real Estate Weekly in November 2021, wherein he expounded upon the uncertain times of the pandemic and how it has affected the market.
Among his civic interests, Mr. Mavashev serves as a board member for the Jewish Children's Museum, and is active with the Community Housing Improvement Program and the Small Property Owners of New York association. Likewise, he volunteers his time with the Young Business Professionals of Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Mavashev is also an active board member of his local synagogue, the Sephardic Torah Center of Marine Park.
Mr. Mavashev studied at Baruch College, where he acquired a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and economics, magna cum laude, in 2006. Shortly thereafter, he received certification as a public accountant. In 2012, Mr. Mavashev was recognized for his work as the Broker of the Year with a Rising Star Award. More recently, he was selected for a CoStar Power Broker Award by CoStar Group in 2021.
