Drawing on nearly five years of expertise, Ms. Harris specializes in mentorship. She fortified her performance in the field with an education at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and English-Writing in 2020. She continued her academic efforts at William Paterson University, earning a master's degree in Creative and Professional Writing in 2022. As a commitment to her field, Ms. Harris has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the National Society of Leadership, College of Humanities and Social Sciences Student Leadership Council and Success, and the Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology.
Ms. Harris began her career as a student caller for Ruffalo Noel Levitz at William Paterson University from 2017 to 2019. From 2018 - 2021, she found much success as a Youth Development Specialist & Club Leader, and was promoted to the position of Program Coordinator at the Community Charter School of Paterson New Jersey. As of 2021 she is an English-Writing instructor for TRIO SSS Classic while concurrently serving as an Adelante Pathways Mentor at the WPU Center for Diversity and Inclusion as of 2021. In this capacity, she is responsible for assisting in school events and ensuring the engagement and mentorship of the student body. Mr. Harris is currently an Adjunct for the Developmental English Studies Department at Passaic County Community College. In this role she is instructing and assisting students in developing the critical reading and process writing skills necessary for success in college level courses.
Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Ms. Harris has received multiple awards, including the 2020 Graduate Assistantship award for her master's in Creative and Professional Writing program at WPU and the 2022 Graduate Resident Director position for her second master's in Clinical and Professional Counseling, while also receiving the inclusion in Who's Who in Colleges. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, she volunteered as the featured artist for the Painting with a Purpose fundraiser at the Redeem Fellowship Center, and as a youth choir director at Tearing the Veil Ministry. Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Harris is most proud of her ability to guide and help the students who are struggling to find a path forward in life.
Ms. Harris attributes much of her success to her parents, who motivated her to strive for greatness and pursue different avenues of talent, and to her mentors, Hilda Martinez-Gutierrez, professional licensed counselor, Yolany Gonell, Director of Student Diversity & Inclusion at WPU, Myranda Louis Jean, Assistant Director of Student Diversity & Inclusion at WPU, Martha Witt and Marina Budhos, esteemed published authors. Looking toward the future, she aspires to expand the scope of her career by advancing to the role of a licensed professional counselor with the ability to provide therapy on behalf of young adolescent girls and couples and families within her community. Additionally, Ms. Harris hopes to publish stories in the dark and urban fiction romance genres.
