A. Her previous positions with the company include vice president from 2018 until 2021 and assistant vice president between 2013 and 2018. Prior to joining Zions Bancorporation, N. An early position working as a data analyst for American Express aided Ms. Austria-Miller in finding great success in the banking industry. She would later receive both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in economics from the University of Utah in 2007 and 2012, respectively. She subsequently joined Zions Bancorporation, N. A. in 2013, where she built and implemented their model validation program. At the time of her joining, her role was created to help the company comply with updated models for anti-money laundering programs. Ms. Austria-Miller's current position allows her to ensure that all clients consistently receive fair banking services, regardless of identity or location.
Outside of her position with Zions Bancorporation, N. A., Ms. Austria-Miller also bears a healthy history of volunteer work, particularly with the Habitat for Humanity in Provo, Utah. Most recently, she acted as a mentor with the Big Brother Big Sister program in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2016. She was also a member of the American Statistical Association in 2015 and the Risk Management Association in 2018. Additionally, in 2022, Ms. Austria-Miller received certification from Tuscan University as a Fair Lending Expert (FLE).
Ms. Austria-Miller finds satisfaction in the fact that her role allows her to prevent frontline workers from discriminating against clients. She also finds fulfillment in informing banks how to maintain industry standards, especially in regards to providing credit, believing that those who live in underserved areas require fair banking services the most. Looking toward the future, Ms. Austria-Miller hopes to receive her regulatory compliance management certification from the American Bankers Association (ABA) in 2022, which will afford her a broader base in all areas of compliance.
