Moreover, he contributes as an instructor for African American Clergy and Educators in Ethiopia, Egypt, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Rome and South Africa.
In his career related endeavors, Bishop Gordon has authored such works as "Walk in the Spirit," "Seven Habits of Highly Effective Christians," "Carrying the Flame: Balancing the Father's Business for All Levels of Leadership" and "Church Formation and Development" to only name a few.
Well regarded for his contributions to the field, Bishop Gordon has received multiple awards, including the Paul Kelly Service Award, the Path Award from the Illinois Department of Public Health and the President's Award from the United Theological Seminary. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, he contributes to Saint Jude's Cancer Research Children's Hospital as an associate of the Sunday of Hope Promotions, and as a board member and a faith-based chairman for Prevention Partnership Inc., which focuses on HIV awareness and substance abuse prevention.
Among his professional accomplishments, Bishop Gordon is most proud of his efforts in providing $61 million worth of services to his community over the past two decades.
