SEDONA, AZ, June 17, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marty Herman is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are chosen from among a pool of the most prominent professionals and are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Born in New York City, Mr. Herman's creative spirit guided him to San Francisco University, where he completed coursework in photographic art. Though the Vietnam War interrupted his educational path, his exceptional camera skills enabled him to serve as a combat photographer for the United States Army. Mr. Herman also worked for the photo intelligence branch of the United States Air Force.
Upon his return to the United States, Mr. Herman thrived as a motion picture cameraman. He notably documented the Apollo 11 mission's successful landing on the moon. From 1975 until 1980, Mr. Herman flourished as the executive vice president and general manager of University Stereo, which ceased operations during the 1980s.
During this period, Mr. Herman founded an advertising agency known as JAM Advertising Ink. He specialized in helping major companies increase sales and expand their presence in Los Angeles. In addition to University Stereo, some of the aforementioned agency's most reputable clients included Toshiba Corporation, Ritz Camera & Image, and Oshman's Sporting Goods. Thanks to Mr. Herman's ingenuity and perseverance, University Stereo's annual sales increased from $2.7 million to an incredible $40 million.
Following his remarkable success with JAM Advertising Ink, Mr. Herman retired from his advertising career at just 35 years of age. He subsequently relocated to Sedona, Arizona, where he and his wife, Diane, began to discuss ideas for their first professional endeavor as a team. The pair's mutual love for art inspired them to establish the Exposures International Gallery of Fine Art in 1996.
One of the largest art galleries in the United States, Exposures International Gallery of Fine Art contains sculptures, paintings, fine art jewelry and multimedia experiences from more than 100 artists. Each year, the Herman's receive submissions from more than 2,000 artists, primarily because their gallery is structured to draw their guests' attention to each individual piece of art, as opposed to the gallery as a whole. Due to his famously transparent approach, Mr. Herman has also developed an esteemed reputation throughout the local artistic community and has forged genuine relationships with many of his gallery's clients.
Alongside his responsibilities as a gallery owner and manager, Mr. Herman previously excelled as the vice chairman of the Sedona Art & Culture Commission. He also contributed to the Sedona Gallery Association for several years. As a testament to their dedication to their home city, the Herman's donate more than $30,000 in proceeds from art sales to the Sedona Community Center's Meals on Wheels program.
In recognition of the Exposures International Gallery of Fine Art's monumental impact on the contemporary art world, the gallery has previously been hailed as the Best Art Gallery in Arizona and the Best Jewelry Gallery in Sedona. At the 2020 American Art Awards, the gallery was selected as one of the 25 Best Galleries or Museums in America. Mr. Herman has also accumulated a great deal of accolades for his unparalleled achievements in advertising and retail. During the 1980s, he was included in the Los Angeles Times' "Top 100 Executives" feature and named the National Retailer of the Year in the category of consumer electronics.
Mr. Herman attributes his success to his honesty and integrity. He treats his clients with the utmost respect and consistently honors his commitments to their collaborative prosperity. Since his passion for his work has played a direct role in his gallery's growth, he advises aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue careers that align with their personal preferences and beliefs. Mr. Herman's renowned honesty stems from his sincere admiration of his clients' wondrous creations.
