Fhonthip Jones Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Culinary Arts

Ms. Jones has excelled in the pastry arts for decades with the Ritz Carlton, the Four Seasons and Belle Mont Farm



    AUSTIN, TX, June 17, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fhonthip Jones has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. While coming of age on a farm with her parents in Bangkok, Thailand, Ms. Jones frequently helped her mother bake Thai desserts. Driven by her passion for the culinary arts, she began working as a chef de partie and assistant pastry chef with Sheraton Hotel Grand Laguna in 1991. For the following nine years, Ms. Jones gained valuable expertise in the field and furthered her education, earning a Bachelor of Science in management and home economics from Sukhothai Thamatiraj University in 1997, as well as a Bachelor of Science in family and consumer sciences through Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University in 1998.

Upon graduating, Ms. Jones started as a junior sous chef with the Ritz Carlton Jamaica, where she remained active between 2000 and 2002. Over the years, she built upon her considerable expertise in roles of increasing responsibility with the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas, Maui and Dubai. An award-winning pastry chef with 20 years of experience at her disposal, she also worked as an executive pastry chef for the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Jumby Bay – A Rosewood Resort and Belle Mont Farm before serving as a pastry sous chef with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. Though she has had to weather various challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Jones aims to return to the workforce and foster her creativity as soon as possible.

Throughout her career, Ms. Jones has furthered her knowledge of the culinary arts and management through a certificate of completion from the Ritz Carlton Labor Management System Course, an SGS food hygiene training course for kitchen management, a ServSafe certification, several leadership courses, and a Great Food, Safe Food certification through Marriott. In light of her outstanding body of work, she has been recognized numerous times, earning Manager of the Quarter nominations on several occasions, a More Than Just Dessert Award and a Culinary Excellence Award, to name only a few. Looking toward the future, Ms. Jones intends to establish her own catering business.
