Having always enjoyed patient care and helping others, Mr. Shapiro had worked in nursing homes, in-home care, and hospitals until he decided to establish a private practice.
For nearly 40 years, Mr. Shapiro has practiced through Lawrence Shapiro Physical Therapy in New York. He also works as a master clinician, training new physical therapists and students. With proven expertise in clinical services, Mr. Shapiro has become a self-made physical therapist providing outstanding service and offers excellent patient care along with five other therapists on site.
Throughout his career, Mr. Shapiro has been incredibly proud of the reputation that he has built with his patients. He offers continued care to all patients, including those whose insurance is not covered. He often receives referrals from doctors at Columbia University, and two years ago, he treated a patient who played for the Saint Louis Cardinals. He maintains his professional affiliation with the American Physical Therapists Association, the Society of New York State Licensed Physical Therapists and Tri-ARC. Looking toward the future, Mr. Shapiro plans to step back from his practice in order to operate in a less hands-on role.
