Dr. Haywood received several recognitions from the Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida

Having maintained her affiliation with the Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers since 2011, Dr. Haywood is a staff physician who is responsible for providing care for uninsured patients, as well as those covered by Medicare and Medicaid. Four years after joining the organization, she also began serving as the director of adult medicine. Working exclusively with adult patients, Dr. Haywood provides patient assessment, treatment and medication for various chronic illnesses, oversees a team of physicians and allied health professionals within the family health centers, among other obligations.
Among her many accomplishments at the Center, Dr. Haywood is particularly proud to have served as the physician lead for one of the teams to be awarded a BD Innovative Approaches to Medication Therapy Management grant. She also had the opportunity to lead the National Target Blood Pressure Control and the Cholesterol Initiative of the American Heart Association, which was especially rewarding as it led to improvement of chronic disease management programs throughout the Center. Outside of her primary objectives in medicine, Dr. Haywood serves as an advisor for AdvisoryCloud since 2021, an organization that builds digital advisory boards for teams and companies.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Haywood aspires to become more involved in global health care and exert a more considerable impact on health care via consulting. Prior to becoming a physician, she worked as a nurse and midwife for the Ministry of Health at Saint George's in Grenada.
Committed to contributing on behalf of her community, Dr. Haywood has been involved with Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. She has also been instrumental at her alma mater, Saint George's University, as the vice president of the undergraduate student government association, as a non-academic affairs committee student representative, as the co-founder of the pre-medical club, and as a public lecture series student representative.
Dr. Haywood received Nursing and Midwifery degrees at Grenada School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences and a Doctor of Medicine at Saint George's University. She later completed a residency in Family Medicine at JFK Medical Center in New Jersey, now an affiliate of Hackensack Meridian Health. Likewise, she attained a Master of Business Administration in health care management and policy at the Herbert Business School at the University of Miami. Dr. Haywood holds several certifications in her field, including in Health Care Quality Management and is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
Dr. Haywood is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. She was also inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Iota Epsilon Alpha.
Honoring her achievements, Dr. Haywood received several recognitions from the Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida, including Certificates of Achievement for Blood Pressure Control Compliance, Diabetes Control Compliance and Colorectal Cancer Screening Compliance and the Firestarter Award. She was also the recipient of the Physician's Recognition Award for Continuing Medical Education from the American Medical Association.
