As the child of an immigrant, Mr. Majic learned the importance of hard work from a young age. Driven by his personal motto, "All for one, one for all," he completed a Bachelor of Science in geography and secondary teaching, with an emphasis on meteorology and geology, from the University of Illinois in 1975, with the intent to pursue a career in education. Subsequently, Mr. Majic received a Bachelor of Science in meteorology from Northern Illinois University in 1978 and earned a certificate to teach grades six through 12.
Mr. Majic was published in The National Dean's List for the year 2000-2001 honoring America's outstanding college students. After gaining decades of expertise in the field of education, Mr. Majic retired at the age of 62. However, just a short time later, he decided to return to the industry as a substitute teacher for such institutions as CSTN, St. Symphorosa School, St. Mary of Czestochowa School, and St. Camillus School, as well as Argo Community High School and District 104. Since 2020, Mr. Majic has also worked as a teacher for a charter school called Rose Educators. In light of his outstanding accomplishments, he received a Certificate of Merit from St. Mary of Czestochowa School.
Outside of his work, Mr. Majic contributes to his community as the president of The Heritage Club and as a lifetime member of the American Meteorological Society. In previous years, he also served as the vice president of Lodge 32 Chicago of the Croatian Fraternal Union. In addition, he has been a treasurer for the Knights of Columbus Saint Padre Pio Da Pietrelcina Council #12926 for the past seventeen years. While his career has been filled with standout moments, he takes the most pride in being the first in his family to earn a college degree. Within the coming years, Mr. Majic intends to continue his work as a substitute teacher and celebrate his 71st birthday.
