While coming of age, Bishop Banks was inspired to pursue a career in ministry. After becoming an ordained minister in 1992, he began as founding pastor of Greater Realness Cathedral, where he remains today. Throughout his career, he has served the church as bishop for 11 churches in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi. Additionally, he continues to minister funerals and weddings, and advocates for social justice and community health and wellness both emotionally and spiritually.
A seasoned minister, Bishop Banks holds a Bachelor of Biblical Studies, a Master of Ministry and a Doctor of Ministry through the Omega Bible Institute & Seminary. He was a consecrated bishop in 2012 by the United Fellowship of Christian Churches & Ministries. He is a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and serves as chaplain for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office and Morehouse General Hospital.
To commemorate his accomplishments, Bishop Banks received a Ministry Award for Leadership. In a career filled with highlights, his most notable achievement is the recognition he has received from mayors and local politicians, as well as local hospitals and police departments.
