N. E. Threat Recognized for Excellence in Engineering

Mr. Threat has been decorated with the Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster

REX, GA, July 01, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- N. E. Threat is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are chosen from among a pool of the most prominent professionals and are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Inspired to join the military by his two brothers, veterans of the U.S. Marine Corps, and some local noncommissioned officers in his home town, Mr. Threat decided at an early age that he would pursue a career in the military. Enlisting the United States Army in 1965, he served in Thailand and Vietnam between 1965 and 1969. He was subsequently stationed at Fort Buckner in Japan from 1969 to 1974—later returning from 1981 to 1986—and in Germany, where he was the station commander for the Hamminkeln Radio Station from 1975 to 1980 and was recognized as the Best Stationer from 1977 to 1980.

Graduating from the Noncommissioned Officer Education System in 1974, Mr. Threat completed further studies with the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy and earned an associate degree in general studies from Central Texas College in 1984 during his time at Fort Buckner. He further flourished with the U.S. Army Information Systems in White Sands, New Mexico from 1986 to 1987. Advancing to the rank of command sergeant major by 1987, Mr. Threat completed additional service with the 1109th Signal Brigade in Fort Clayton in Panama from 1987 to 1990 as well as in Operation Just Cause. During this time, Mr. Threat obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of the State of New York in 1988.

In 1990, Mr. Threat was assigned to the U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, a post which he cites as a particular highlight of his career as it offered him the opportunity to travel to numerous different countries while installing electronics. He retired from active military service in 1993 and became a licensed insurance representative for life, health and property insurance in 1993, a licensed mutual funds representative in 1994 and a certified substitute teacher of American government and history in 1995. In 1997, he was recruited to the U.S. military in a civilian position as the chief of the Electronic Services Branch at Fort McPherson, Georgia. To bolster his skills, Mr. Threat completed a directorate of information management course at Fort Gordon in 2010 prior to his retirement 2011.

Alongside his primary career responsibilities, Mr. Threat has contributed his skills to a number of other professional endeavors. Notably, he co-authored articles for various magazines and newspapers in both Fort Huachuca and Sierra Vista, Arizona. Mr. Threat also maintains his membership with such professional organizations as the National Rifle Association, the Non-Commissioned Officers Association, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, the Signal Corps Regimental Association, the Tucson Rod and Gun Club, the Cochise Gun Club, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Attributing much of his success to having had a number of excellent mentors, Mr. Threat was most impacted by his mother, Nancy Bell Pieler, an incredibly devout Christian woman who introduced him and his siblings to faith and ensured that they all received a good education. Inspired by his mother's faith, he was licensed as a preacher of the gospel in 2005, and utilized his skills with Wye Mountain Baptist Church in Wye Mountain, Arizona. Mr. Threat has also been affiliated with the Haynes Missionary Baptist Church in Haynes, Arizona and the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Stockbridge, Georgia.

For his years of dedication to the United States Army, Mr. Threat has been the recipient of a number of honors and accolades. Having been presented with both a Vietnam Service Medal and a Vietnam Campaign Medal, he later accrued a National Defense Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal Ninth Award, an Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, a Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster. In light of all his accomplishments, Mr. Threat was previously featured in the 24th edition of Who's Who in the West.
