Nasreen Purva Bhatt Gets the Star Treatment!

As the female chief executive officer and founder of Inner Soul, a self-care beauty brand, Nasreen Purva Bhatt launched her company in 2019 with only one product: a hair oil that was passed down from her mother. As a Gujarati child, Ms. Bhatt recalls that her mother used to put oil in her hair, and so she took that bonding experience and provided a product to carry on that tradition. "I've dyed my hair, I've bleached it, I've cut it, and I know my hair," said Ms. Bhatt. "I went back to everything that I knew, and [the oil] helps with dandruff psoriasis and dry, brittle hair." She cited the need to help people feel natural and love their own natural beauty, which is something she intends to provide to clients each and every day.

An entrepreneur by disposition, Ms. Bhatt describes her work as a passion. She works on the brand day and night, and does everything she can to perfect every product that her company offers so that they are healthy for customers, as well as the planet. Ms. Bhatt endeavors to run her business with a goal of female empowerment, which begins with herself. She makes it a point to learn something each day, and she tries to give each colleague and client her very best.

Throughout her career, Ms. Bhatt has been motivated by a deeper rooted cleaning within herself. "I've had so much happen at such a young age in my life," she explained. "I've really had to dig deep and really go down into my childhood, and no matter how good or bad… I've learned to take these experiences and create my own path to building my own happiness." Part of that happiness comes from giving back to others. Each year, during the holidays, she contributes to a fair trade company called Trades of Hope, which sells handmade pieces from artisans around the world. The proceeds from these sales go toward rescuing women from human trafficking and creating jobs for women to enable them to rise from poverty. Additionally, Ms. Bhatt is involved with the Da Vinci Science Center, as a member of the Leonardo Society, and she is currently sponsoring the construction of a 67,000 square-foot facility that will open in 2024. Once completed, the facility will feature touch-screen kiosks and exhibits that will help attendees understand the inner workings of the human body. As a Gujarati woman, she is passionate about helping the people in her home village better their conditions, and her personal goal is to provide clean drinking water that is more accessible than what is currently available in that part of the world.
