Prior to beginning her vocational journey, Ms. Mussey pursued a formal education, attending the University of Redlands and receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English and art in 1964. Furthermore, she received a standard secondary teaching credential from the University of California Berkeley in 1965. In addition to her academic credentials. Ms. Mussey has received several certifications in her field, including for expressive art therapy, Reiki therapy, and in alchemical hypnotherapy. Well regarded as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. Mussey has volunteered with several notable organizations, including the Crisis Hotline in Marin County, California, the Indo-Chinese Refugee Center at Hamilton Air Force Base, AHP sponsored International Conferences on Conflict Resolution, including the International Women's Leadership Conference, as well as the International Conference in Expressive Art Therapy.
In recognition of her accomplishments, Ms. Mussey has been the recipient of several commendations, including the Kinship and Parental Stress Hotlines Adjective Award and the Congressional Recognition Award in 1984, and she was nominated for the Temple Award for Creative Altruism by the Institute of Noetic Sciences in 2002. Ms. Mussey was a Recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019, an Inductee in Marquis Who's Who of Professional Women in 2019, and is an Honoree, of the Marquis Who's Who Distinguished Worldwide Humanitarian Award in 2020. In addition to her primary vocation, she is also a licensed non-denominational minister and wedding officiant. In light of her fulfilling career, she is notably proud to have been able to provide healing and support to so many individuals wanting to grow and thrive. When she is not working, Ms. Mussey enjoys traveling, photography, reading, writing, gardening, genealogy, and spending time with her children.
