Mr. Dougherty, who enjoys more than four decades of expertise in the field, joined Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in 2021 as a senior systems engineer. In his current position, Mr. Dougherty specializes in monitoring the reliability and maintainability of electronic systems.
Prior to being recruited by Jacobs, Mr. Dougherty spent four years as a principal systems engineer for Raytheon Technologies between 2017 and 2021. He also held various roles with Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc., in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Texas Instruments Inc. in Lewisville, Texas.
Having led an accomplished career in the industry, Mr. Dougherty notes that he always had an interest in the multidisciplinary nature of the engineering field. He also became fascinated with failure analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and integrated diagnostics. Among his greatest achievements as an engineer, Mr. Dougherty worked on the wind profiler and X-33 programs.
Mr. Dougherty received a Bachelor of Science in engineering physics at the University of Tulsa in 1982. To further his expertise, he earned a Master of Science in physics at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2004. Mr. Dougherty also received certification as a reliability engineer and quality engineer and is a registered professional engineer in the states of Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado.
To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Mr. Dougherty aligns himself with the National Society of Professional Engineers and the International Council on Systems Engineering. Mr. Dougherty has been active as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America since 2010.
