RENO, NV, July 20, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tom Gordon has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all considered during the selection process.

Drawing on over three decades of expertise, Mr. Gordon specializes in sound engineering and recording arts education. His client list includes Whitesnake, The Beach Boys, Dr. Dre, Ozzy Osbourne, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, CCR, Boyz II Men, Collective Soul, Bruce Dickenson (Iron Maiden), E40, Nelson and even Milli Vanilli! Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he pursued an education at the University of Southern California, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in recording sciences in 1991. As a commitment to his field, Mr. Gordon has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the Audio Engineering Society and the Digital Trends Committee for the University of Nevada, Reno.

Mr. Gordon began his career in the music industry working in tech support and as a music reference librarian at the USC Music Library while in college from 1986 to 1991. Between 1991 and 1998, he started his professional career as a staff/head engineer at Granny's House/Sierra Sonics Recording Mansion. Since 1998, he has found much success as the studio manager/head engineer and producer at Imirage Sound Lab Studio, while concurrently serving as the owner of Inspired Amateur Productions. There he has been managing a commercial recording studio while developing hundreds of lesser-known artists. Mr. Gordon also contributed to the Black Potatoe Music Festival as a stage manager from 2001 until 2019, while holding the role of a producer, engineer, and archivist at Whitesnake's Hook City Studio since 2017.

In addition to his primary responsibilities in the field, Mr. Gordon has built a prolific career serving as a recording arts and sciences instructor at the University of Nevada, Reno since 2007. In this capacity, he is responsible for four recording arts classes and a music industry internship, through which he works with students regarding recording, mixing and the music industry. Additionally, Mr. Gordon listens to students' work and revisions on a weekly basis to ensure comprehension of provided content, recordings for faculty and student ensembles, and networking for trade shows.

Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Gordon has contributed as a producer to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, for whom he produced two charity albums, "Hope for the Holidays" and "More Hope for the Holidays." He also produced the charity album "Spyke Deggnog: Christmas in Your Face" for AIDS Research. Most recently he released a single, "Tom Gordon's Battle Scar," benefitting the American Indian Graduate Center and the Washoe County School District music program.

Well regarded for his contributions to the field, Mr. Gordon has received multiple accolades, including an Emmy Award in 2014, Platinum Record Awards for Dr. Dre's "Chronic 2001", Boyz II Men's "II", Collective Soul's "Collective Soul", The Beach Boys' "Sounds of Summer", Gold Record Awards for Whitesnake's "Restless Heart", and Ice Cube's "War & Peace", and for his teaching he won the Effects 100 "Beautiful Mind" Award in 2013.

Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Gordon is most proud to have worked on Dr. Dre's seminal "Chronic 2001" album by inspiring them to incorporate John Carpenter's 1978 movie "Halloween" theme for the song "Murder Ink" having dressed up as Michael Myers in the studio and scaring everyone. (Being 6' 8" tall, it was pretty scary). Furthermore, he is gratified to have helped develop the new fine arts building at the University of Nevada, Reno after 16 years of planning. He attributes much of his success to being humble, patient and kind. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gordon aspires to earn a master's degree in his specialty and hopes to release a full-length album of his own.
