Dedicated to serving her country, Ms. Brown has been a dedicated leader in the U.S. Department of Defense for more than 22 years. Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Jackson State University in 1999. She began her career working as a civilian in the U.S. Air Force in 2000 at Edwards Air Force Base in Kern County, California.
During this period, Ms. Brown attained a Master of Business Administration from Webster University in 2007. She worked in a variety of positions, including planning, budget programming, logistics, resource management, contracting and force management and development. She began her professional career as a budget analyst in 2002. She continued her career as a contract specialist in 2006, earning a promotion to a lead contract specialist for the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in 2008. In 2009, she became the chief of acquisitions, resourcing, and contracts for the deputy chief of staff of operations for the U.S. Air Force Headquarters at the Pentagon.
Ms. Brown continued working at the Pentagon as a resources adviser in 2017 and was promoted to chief of human resources for the logistics, engineering, and force protection department for HAF/A4. She was by-name selected to serve a year in the stand up of U.S. Space Force in 2020. Since 2021, she has been the chief of the resources division for the Air Force Medical Readiness Agency. In this capacity, she leads an integrated team, overseeing audit readiness as well as financial policy and execution for the current fiscal year's portfolio. She has directed the allocation, distribution and acquisitions/contracting management support of for various Department of Defense activities with portfolios totaling $850M.
To commemorate her accomplishments, Ms. Brown was honored with a Meritorious Achievement Medal by the U.S. Army in 2009 and again by the U.S. Air Force in 2018. She was also given the Civilian of the Year Award in 2011. She credits her success to her humble attitude as well as the guidance and support she received from her mentors during her professional journey. She plans to continue the career she loves with the Department of Defense and consulting in her spare time.
