Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she pursued an education at Eastern Kentucky University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in family and consumer sciences in 1976. Ms. Toupin continued her academic efforts at Indiana University Southeast, earning a master's degree in family and consumer sciences.
Ms. Toupin began her vocation serving as a home economics instructor for 10 years, while concurrently working as an Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. After leaving education in 1986 she pursued her role as an Independent Mary Kay Sales Director and then on to the prestigious position of Independent Mary Kay National Sales Director between 2000 and 2020.
Post retirement, she created her personal podcast, "Common Sense Choices" in 2021. A podcast which focuses on topics that help develop strong confident citizens who are healthy and well rounded mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially. Each week features a life skills class that gives listeners hope and strategy for a better life.
In her career related endeavors, she has served as a host, trainer and speaker at various national and international conferences for Mary Kay Inc. Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Ms. Toupin has received multiple awards for her achievements at Mary Kay Inc., including numerous Million Dollar Achiever Awards and the most coveted Miss Go Give award in 1997.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Toupin has contributed her time and services to various charities for child sex and human trafficking and the 4-H Youth Development and Mentoring Organization. Among her professional accomplishments, she is most proud of creating her personal podcast, and of her career with Mary Kay Inc., where she garnered years of extensive experience and influence as a motivational speaker, which has helped her establish a national and an international presence.
Proudly living by her podcast mantra: "I am where I am by the choices that I've made or have allowed others to make for me," Ms. Toupin attributes much of her success to her upbringing on her family's dairy farm, where she acquired a strong work ethic. Likewise, she credits her experiences with 4-H Youth Development and the positive 'YOU CAN DO IT' culture of Mary Kay Inc. Looking toward the future, Ms. Toupin aspires to continue building her "Common Sense Choices" brand with her podcast, and working with leaders around the globe.
