An accomplished professional with a proven record of success in medicine and education, Dr. Echols also served as owner of Medical Education Group, corporate administrator of medical education and research with Forum Health and as chair of medical education for the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University.

Since joining the university, she has developed curriculum, established an academic advising system for students, managed coaching and performance evaluations for college personnel and completed accreditation documents for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Echols has established medical schools in several countries, created programs that increase diversity in medicine, trained medical students in patient communication, and published a number of articles, videos and books related to patient and health care communication.
Known for her scholarly output, Dr. Echols has authored such works as "Your Health is Your Wealth: Being Part of the Healthcare Team," "Strategies for Mentoring First Year Medical Students," "Perceptions of Academic Dishonesty in Medical Schools and Residency Programs" and "Predicting Clinical Success in Medical School." Likewise, she has been awarded thousands of dollars in grants through Nova Southeastern University and the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine through which she received the Outstanding Medical Education Research Poster Award.
To remain aware of developments affecting her field, Dr. Echols aligns herself with the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions, the Florida International Trade and Cultural Expo, and the Global Health Academy. Devoted to those less fortunate, she contributes to her community as a volunteer with Feeding America and as founder of the Global Health Education Foundation. In a career filled with highlights, she is most proud of witnessing her students receive their white coats when they graduate. Looking toward the future, Dr. Echols will focus on Larkin University's accreditation, build upon the school's reputation and eventually retire.
