Ms. Traigis has been the band director for Alcoa City Schools since 2010.

An expert in clarinet performance, Ms. Traigis has been a skilled music teacher and performer for more than 20 years. Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Tennessee in 2004 and a Master of Music in clarinet performance from the University of Georgia in 2006. While pursuing her education, she began her career in 2002 as a clarinet instructor providing private lessons, which she continues today.
Following her academic accomplishments, Ms. Traigis has been the band director for Alcoa City Schools since 2010. In this capacity, she teaches band classes for students in sixth through eighth grade. She also works as an assistant for the high school band. To remain aware of developments affecting her field, she is a member of the East Tennessee School Band & Orchestra Association, the Tennessee Secondary Schools Band Directors Association, the Tennessee Music Education Association, the International Clarinet Association, and the National Association for Music Education.
Ms. Traigis was also the band director for the Episcopal School of Knoxville between 2010 and 2011 and has been a clarinetist for the Air National Guard Band of the South since 2021. Outside of her main career path, she has been the concertmaster for the Tennessee Wind Symphony. Looking toward the future, she plans to take her middle school students to attend and perform at various music festivals. She intends to commit her band classes to attending each year, which they have not had the opportunity of doing previously.
