For more than a decade, Janell Tartaglia has earned distinction as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. In 2021, she established Crescent Moon Care, an outpatient pediatric and adult physical therapy clinic in the town of Canton, Connecticut. In addition to helping adults restore normal function and reduce pain, she treats children of all ages who are living with an array of diagnoses, such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down syndrome, and various genetic conditions. Furthermore, Dr. Tartaglia is a board-certified pediatric specialist and specializes in dynamic movement intervention (DMI), which is a form of intervention used by Physical Therapists to treat children with motor impairments.
Dr. Tartaglia previously garnered experience as a pediatric Physical Therapist for Hartford Public Schools and the Talcott Center for Child Development. She began her career at Physical Therapy Partners where she focused on adult orthopedic and neurological conditions. Additionally, Dr. Tartaglia served as an adjunct faculty at the University of Hartford teaching a variety of courses in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
Outside of her primary career endeavors, Dr. Tartaglia participated in the 2012 American Physical Therapy Association National Conference, where she presented on a co-written research article demonstrating the effectiveness of body-weight-supported treadmill training in stroke patients. She has also gained experience with various pediatric conditions and disciplines by completing the Leadership and Education of Neuro-Developmental Disabilities Program. Dr. Tartaglia volunteers her time with the Special Olympics and Autism Speaks and created a Shooting Stars Program with Crescent Moon Care to raise money for various local charities.
Dr. Tartaglia received a Bachelor of Science from Southern Connecticut State University in 2008 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Hartford in 2011. She received board certification as a Pediatric Physical Therapy Specialist in 2021, having distinguished herself as one of few in the state to receive it.
