During the early stages of his career, Dr. Maioriello also gained valuable expertise in neurosurgery with Midwest Brain and Spine and the Quad City Neurosurgical Association. Licensed to practice in Iowa, Illinois and Texas, he earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Benedictine University in 1993, a Master of Science in neuroanatomy and physiology from Northwestern University in 1994 and a Doctor of Medicine from Rush Medical College in 1998. Likewise, Dr. Maioriello completed a neurosurgery residency through the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2004 and an endovascular neurosurgery fellowship through the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2012. Dr. Maioriello has helped to develop multiple comprehensive stroke centers both in Houston and Dallas, along with designing and overseeing the construction of their respective hybrid biplane angiography operating rooms. Throughout the course of his career, he has also indulged in his passion for racing as an amateur racecar driver for the Sports Car Club of America and the World Racing League.
To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Dr. Maioriello aligns himself with the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery. In a career filled with highlights, he is most proud of raising wonderful daughters.
