For more than a decade, Mr. Platt has distinguished himself as a leader among his peers as a representative of Northwestern Mutual in Dayton, Ohio. As a financial advisor and a managing director, he splits his time between personal financial planning and wealth management. Responsible for the oversight of 24 talented advisors that manage over $350 million in client assets, he is also heavily invested in risk management planning for families, business owners, and investors. Additionally, Mr. Platt devotes much of his time to recruiting, developing his leadership team and collaborating with a full-time recruiter who is tasked with making community connections and establishing brand awareness.
Originally joining Northwestern Mutual shortly after graduating from college, Mr. Platt led the internship program before being promoted to the role of managing director. Having learned the business since the beginning, he was fortunate to be given the opportunity to run a firm at the young age of 30. Looking toward the future, Mr. Platt aims to continue serving as a mentor while also expanding his services by opening multiple other offices. Ultimately, he seeks to become recognized as the region's foremost financial planning firm.
Mr. Platt is involved with numerous local and national charitable organizations, He also lends his free time serving as a member of his alma mater's board of trustees at Wright State University, having been appointed to his nine-year term in 2019 by the governor of Ohio.
A graduate of Archbishop Alter High School, Mr. Platt subsequently received an undergraduate degree in business and finance, cum laude, at Wright State University in 2009 and completed financial planning and services training through The American College of Financial Services between 2010 and 2013. Mr. Platt also received certification as a charted life underwriter and chartered financial consultant, is a certified financial planner, holds series 7, 65, 63, 6 and 26 certifications, and is licensed in life and health insurance.
