With over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship to her credit, Ms. Wright serves as the chief financial officer, vice president, and retail program director of Gulf Shore Cooling Inc. in Fort Myers. Purchasing the air conditioning company in 2000, which was just a small establishment at the time, she has since expanded its operations to serve more customers. Specializing in heating and cooling installation, service and repair, Gulf Shore Cooling Inc. also offers various products from some of the most well known leaders in the industry, including Lennox, Bryant, and Mitsubishi.
In addition to overseeing the daily operations of her business, Ms. Wright collaborates with her team in the field and delegates work to the subcontractors. She also works alongside her son, who serves as the general manager. Among other responsibilities, Ms. Wright strives to maintain and continue strengthening a positive culture in all areas of the business by providing ongoing motivation and support to her employees. Looking toward the future, she aspires to have Gulf Shore Cooling Inc. become recognized as the first in its industry in her area within the next several years.
Ms. Wright is proud of how far she has come in what is still considered a male-dominated industry. She is also grateful for the many relationships she has formed within the community, as well as the various business partners, manufacturers, and vendors, especially Costco and The Home Depot. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Ms. Wright spent several years working for her father, a general contractor, as an assistant in the civil engineering commercial construction sector in Port Huron, Michigan. She also worked in sales for many years for the graphics department of a local firm, where she garnered experience in retail advertising.
To support her local business, Ms. Wright is a member of the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce and the Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce. She also enjoys participating in local community outreach, volunteering her time with children at area private schools, and providing air conditioning equipment for families in need through the assistance of Lennox Industries.
An alumnus of Michigan Technological University, Ms. Wright achieved a Bachelor of Science in technical and scientific communication in 1982, where she notably played varsity volleyball all four years. She also completed Dale Carnegie Training in 1993, through which she was recognized at the top of her class with the Highest Award for Achievement. Additionally, Ms. Wright maintains a license as a visual flight rules-rated pilot.
Ms. Wright is a professional member of BNI Gateway Business Leaders. She is also the vice president of the undergraduate chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity. Recognizing her achievements, she has been published in the Women in HVACR Special Edition via HVACR Distribution Business in 2015. Ms. Wright subsequently received recognition with an HVAC Star Service Provider Appreciation Award from The Home Depot Home Services in 2016 and her company was recognized with an Outstanding Advertiser Award among 450 other companies throughout the country in 2021 by Service Nation Alliance.
