As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Worth enjoyed a fulfilling career that spanned more than 60 years, serving first as an elementary teacher and later as a writer and editor. As a goal-driven student at Kinsman High School in Ohio, she dreamed of attending college, despite her family's disapproval. After high school graduation, she enrolled at the East Texas State Teachers College, which today is part of Texas A&M University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in education. With her bachelor's degree in hand, she immediately began teaching but returned to East Texas State Teachers College during each summer break until she earned a Master of Education in 1959.

Throughout the course of her career as a public school educator, Ms. Worth taught second through fifth grade in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. In the early 1980s, she underwent a career change, working in the positions of technical writer and illustrator in Silicon Valley, California. She would continue in this field for more than 20 years, eventually relocating to Colorado Springs and acquiring a position with L3 Communications. Throughout her second career, Ms. Worth continued to develop her skill set to stay competitive, through courses taken in computer programming from Foothill College in 1988.

Ms. Worth retired in 2011 and continues to stay active by writing, quilting, traveling and reading. She recently published a memoir, "Is This Hazel's Girl? Dreams and Goals of a Misbegotten Pennsylvania Dutch Girl," exploring her life experiences, beginning in a Pennsylvania farmhouse during the Great Depression.
