In 2009, Dr. Rathee was hired by Delaware State University as an Assistant Professor of Education. With steady dedication and passion, she swiftly acquired promotions to Associate Professor and full Professor ranks. Presently, she maintains her role as a Professor and serves as the university's Director of Education Graduate Programs. Performing dual roles, she has guided more than 52 students through their doctoral research and has led an exponential growth in graduate student enrollment and success in the Education Graduate Programs. To remain cognizant of developments affecting her field, Dr. Rathee has affiliated herself with several organizations, including the World Education Research Association (WERA), the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), the International Organization of Scientific Research (IOSR), The International Society for Justice Research (ISJR), the National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPEID), British Association of Sport & Exercise Sciences (BASES), and the International Honor Society in Education Kappa Delta Pi (KDP).
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Rathee has devoted herself to many charitable organizations such as the Special Olympics, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the American Heart Association, the Autism Society of Delaware, the Delaware Association for Blind Athletes, and the Social Service Club for blind children & children with other disabilities in India. Recognizing her civic service, she has been invited as an Ambassador to participate in the 3rd International Forum on Sport for Peace and Development organized by United Nations (UNO) and International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Due to her wide range of knowledge, she has contributed to 12 books, including "Younger Gifted and Missing" and "Essentials of Physical Education." Her latest book, "Contemporary Yoga Education Transforming the Body Mind & Soul," achieved international popularity and is currently under translation to Italian by the professors of the Department of Medical, Oral and Biotechnological Sciences and "G. d'Annunzio" University in Italy. She holds senior positions on the Editorial Boards of numerous reputed international journals and has reviewed more than 57 research articles. To refer to her expertise, she has been invited for research collaboration as a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Vassar College, New York.
Dr. Rathee earned numerous Outstanding/Best Research Paper and Presentation awards. To commemorate her extraordinary performance, she received a 10-year Meritorious Service Award, Outstanding Faculty Award, Sunshine Award, Professional Development Award, and Merit Award, all from Delaware State University. She has also received the prestigious Global Teacher Role Model Award and a Letter of Commendation from the Finance Minister of State, Government of India for being a teacher of excellence and distinguished sports promoter.
In terms of research funding, she has successfully obtained $75,000 twice from 2012-2017, as a Co-PI and PI, for the STEM-related Explorers' Club Delaware State University Foundational grant through the American Honda Foundation. Furthermore, she was Co-PI of a $ 2,000,000 grant funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program 2012-2018 at Delaware State University.
