BATAVIA, IL, August 05, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lori A. Clausen has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Clausen is a clinical research nurse with Icon Plc/Accellacare. She works with a group of urologists and oncologists enrolling patients for prostate and bladder cancer. They are the first site nationwide to use nanoknife for prostate cancer. Her exceptional academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Olivet Nazarene University, earned in 2020, and a Bachelor of Science in business management from the University of Phoenix, attained in 2009. Her industry certifications are equally as impressive and include a Trauma Nurse Certification as well as a paramedic license, a credential she received at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in 2015. Before starting at Accellacare in 2021, Ms. Clausen worked for four years in the emergency room as a paramedic technician, then nurse at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital. A positive attitude and consistency are the essential qualities that Ms. Clausen cites as vital to her professional success in health services. She was particularly proud to have collaborated on a large, two-year clinical trial in conjunction with the Department of Defense at Great Lakes Naval Base in Chicago. The research team, studying the adenovirus vaccine, enrolled over 2,000 subjects in just one year. Ms. Clausen notes the study management and the research findings as major accomplishments of her career as the Adenovirus vaccine is now FDA approved and given to enlisted military.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Clausen plans to continue her work in critical care medicine and to persist as a lead researcher in oncology studies. Ultimately, she plans to obtain a nurse practitioner license and help manage the broad spectrum of cases that are observed in the intensive care unit. Ms. Clausen has also recently obtained certification as a foster parent as a way of supporting children and adolescents in need.
