Drawing on two decades as a Registered Nurse, Ms. Bethea is recognized for her outstanding work in the Emergency Department at University of Florida Health in Gainesville. In her role since 2012, she delivers level one trauma care for both adult and pediatric patients, triages cases, and also works in a progressive care unit as a travel nurse. She also serves as preceptor to oversee nursing students during their clinical rotations. Additionally, she has played a key part in assisting her hospital to maintain its American Nurses Credentialing Center magnet status. Before joining University of Florida Health, she worked at North Florida Regional Medical Center, now known as HCA Florida North Florida Hospital.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Bethea obtained an Associate Degree in nursing from Santa Fe College in 2004, completing her studies with a 3.9 GPA. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with highest distinction, from Chamberlain University in 2019. During her educational venture, Ms. Bethea took great pride in being elected President of her nursing class and being inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
Ms. Bethea attributes her success to her upbringing. After spending her early childhood years in foster care, she was adopted by hardworking parents who motivated her to accomplish great things in life. Today she is a dedicated volunteer within her community, taking on civic activities with food banks, elementary schools and summer camps that serve children and adults with mental and physical disabilities.
