Looking toward the future, Dr. Ukazim aspires to continue effectively educating young and adult students and hopes to train people on how to live a better quality of life.
MESA, AZ, August 10, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rev. Chidinma Chinasa Ukazim, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on over four decades of expertise in the field of academia, Dr. Ukazim specialized in teaching English to speakers of other languages. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she pursued an education at the Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University (Texas A&M University), where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and modern languages in 1977, and subsequently a Master of Arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages and linguistics in 1980. Dr. Ukazim continued her academic efforts at Corllins University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in humanitarian services in 2009.
Proudly serving by her motto: "I continue to learn so that I may teach others who continue to learn," Dr. Ukazim began her career as a teaching assistant at the Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University from 1978 to 1979, followed by a post as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Downtown Campus from 1979 until 1981. Between 1988 and 1993, she continued her vocation as an adjunct professor at Cedar Valley College in the Dallas County Community College District, and as a French instructor at the Souderton Community Education program. From 1992 and until her retirement in 2019, she found much success at Montgomery County Community College, where she initially served as an adjunct professor, and subsequently as a full-time professor of English as a second language. In this capacity, Dr. Ukazim taught students from all over the world, and has been instrumental in creating an online program called Global Academy, where students from various countries are taught to speak English through pictures, and gradually learn to form sentences and paragraphs prior to pursuing courses in engineering, history and other subjects. She also enjoyed her Igbo Language and Culture teaching career at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia (Igbo is her mother-tongue and first language, so it was an honor to add it to her profession).
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Ukazim has contributed to several committees at Montgomery County Community College and served as a co-founder at Living Water and Bread Ministries, where she is responsible for building schools in Nigeria, in addition to accompanying students from the United States to visit and learn about different villages there. Moreover, she and her husband founded Inter-Continental Connections Education (ICCE) in Nigeria, a nonprofit organization that constructed a high school in Nigeria (website: www.iccej.com). In a career filled with highlights, she is most proud of her ability to institute the Global Academy program at Montgomery County Community College in 2016, and to have brought about positive changes through her endeavors and initiatives that have humbly come to fruition. She attributes much of her success to her Christian faith, to her father, who sacrificed much to support her education, to her husband for bringing her to the U.S. to further her education and start their new family, and to her gospel music and singing which she uploads to TikTok, YouTube and other music platforms. Looking toward the future, Dr. Ukazim aspires to continue effectively educating young and adult students and hopes to train people on how to live a better quality of life.
