Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from The Ohio State University and receiving her teacher certification through Ohio Dominican University in 1995, Ms. Price began her career as an English teacher at Delaware Hayes High School in 1996, where she remained until 1999. Over the years, she expanded upon her expertise, completing a Master of Arts in General Professional Studies and a Master of Arts in Education Administration from The Ohio State University. Drawing on her considerable expertise, Ms. Price presently excels with Columbus City Schools as an English teacher.
In addition to her role as an English teacher, Ms. Price works with Columbus City Schools as a Home Instructor and a high school Success Coach. Through the Success Program, she helps students that are not matriculated return to school through a reentry program by teaching them one-on-one. To remain aware of developments affecting her field, Ms. Price aligns herself with the National Education Association, as well as the Ohio Education Association, where she is a member of the Educator Voice Academy.
In conjunction with her work, Ms. Price contributes to her community through Strategies Against Violence Everywhere and Speakers Speak Out. Due to her wide range of knowledge, she authored "150 50: A Teacher's Account of Urban Schools" in 2019, which introduces various ways to teach culture and identity in the classroom. Throughout the course of her career, she has been honored many times, earning the Teacher of the Year Award from Linden-McKinley High School and the Commending Award for The Ohio State University Upward Bound Program. In a career filled with highlights, she is most proud of writing her book. Looking toward the future, Ms. Price aims to become an adjunct professor at the university level.
