CARROLLTON, GA, August 12, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anna R. Phillips has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
While coming of age, Ms. Phillips learned to play the piano and became fond of singing. Subsequently, her high school chorus teacher, who eventually became a close friend and mentor, sparked her interest in music and how it connected to education. Ever since, she has harbored a passion for choral music and the happiness that it brings to others. After earning her undergraduate degree, she received a master's degree in music education from Anderson University in South Carolina.
Supported by her educational efforts, life experiences and professional expertise, Ms. Phillips presently excels as a choral director for Central High School. Over the course of the last five years, she has taught high school students about various musical theories and compositional techniques so that they can analyze music, understand its history and even compose their own pieces. In conjunction with her work at Central High School, she has also served as a member of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Team as well as the school Leadership Team.
In order to remain aware of ongoing industry changes, Ms. Phillips is affiliated with the Georgia Music Educators Association, the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Education and the Professional Association of Georgia Educators. Alongside her work, she volunteers at the local Carrollton Center for the Arts as well as various churches and nursing homes. For her professional achievements, she was recognized as the Central High School literary coach under the Georgia High School Association, the Central High School Fine Arts Department Chair, and the Carroll County Choral Liaison.
Though her career has been filled with standout moments, Ms. Phillips is most proud to have established opportunities for music making at Central High School. One of the most notable accomplishments has been the establishment of the musical theater program which began with a production of Annie. The program has more than doubled in size since its inception. The school's choral program has brought it much acclaim. More importantly, she has noticed more students becoming involved in the fine arts. Looking toward the future, Ms. Phillips intends to continue her work at Central High School, expand upon the music program and pursue a higher degree.
