Mr. Maier spent his formative years as a recording engineer for American Music Corporation in Sauk City, Wisconsin, from 1977 to 1980, after which he garnered expertise in broadcasting as a staff engineer for WMTV in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1986, he had the opportunity to serve as the chief engineer for WPTX, a startup company in Portland, Maine, where he was responsible for designing all of the original studio equipment that was implemented when the organization was first put on the air. He was also the very first chief engineer for Fox News Service, which later became Fox News.
Aspiring to own his own studio, Mr. Maier is presently working with an investor to begin building a venue bands can use to stream live content on the internet. He also hopes to establish his own YouTube channel and is currently working on writing his autobiography. Looking toward the future, Mr. Maier also aims to establish an advertising agency as a partner with another businessman.
Initially introduced to the communications industry while still in high school, Mr. Maier worked as a ham-radio operator, through which he gained extensive experience in electronics. After graduating, he was accepted to the University of Wisconsin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in radio, television and film in 1977.
