Likewise, he is the director and co-founder of one of the PULSE Amputation Prevention Centers in El Paso, Texas, through which he works closely with other physicians to treat circulation problems in the legs, and maintains hospital affiliations with Las Palmas Medical Center and the Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Raja has trained more than 300 physicians regarding advanced techniques for the treatment of critical limb ischemia.
An expert in his field, Dr. Raja is licensed to practice in Texas, New Mexico and Alabama, as well as certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine. In order to stay abreast of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, through which he is a fellow. Due to his considerable knowledge, Dr. Raja has contributed to a number of works over the years, including the clinical trial "Sub-massive and Massive Pulmonary Embolism Treatment with Ultrasound Accelerated Thrombolysis Therapy."
In recognition of his achievements, Dr. Raja earned a Meaningful Use Stage 1 Certification through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Though his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud of having one of the lowest amputation rates in the region and advancing in his field to the point where he has become an expert in vascular medicine.
