CONROE, TX, August 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Monica Campana has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Campana joined Lone Star College in Houston as a supplier diversity director in 2018 as part of the institution's diversity action committee. In this capacity, she is responsible for fostering professional relationships with corporate members, a diverse range of large companies, as well as vendors to improve and enhance the institution's supplier diversity programs and provide equal access to business opportunities on campus.
The overall responsibility of the diversity action committee at Lone Star College is to develop diversity and inclusion recommendations both at the system and campus levels. The committee also makes commendations for the chancellor and chief diversity officer regarding various opportunities that promote practices that improve equity and inclusion.
Excited to serve in such an inspiring role, Ms. Campana intends to begin researching the importance of supplier diversity throughout the community and document her findings either in article or book form. Prior to being recruited by Lone Star College, she notably worked for the government of Ecuador as an online director of training and development for a program that trained approximately 1,500 teachers throughout the country. Ms. Campana also worked for several other organizations in human resources, education and organizational development before relocating to the U.S.
Ms. Campana is a local member of the Black Chamber and the Women's Chamber. She also serves as the president of the Woodlands chapter of Professional Business Partners and as the committee chair for the supplier diversity advisory committee of the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council.
Ms. Campana received a bachelor's degree at Universidad UTE and a master's degree in neuropsychology in education at the International University of La Rioja in Spain. Ms. Campana also became a certified professional in supplier diversity through the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).
To commemorate her accomplishments, Ms. Campana received an Award of Merit and Recognition and a Strategic Partner Award from the Greater Houston Business Procurement Forum. Additionally, she was honored with the Outstanding Diversity Program Award 2022 by the Houston Business Journal and the 2022 Supplier Diversity Champion Award by Subcontractors USA, TX. Ms. Campana was also mentioned in an article in the Houston Business Journal.
