Drawing on over three decades of expertise, Mr. Bowker specialized in television and frequency management. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he pursued an education at Middlebury College in Vermont, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in physics. As a commitment to his field, Mr. Bowker served as the president of his local chapter at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
In 1949, Mr. Bowker began his vocation building a radio station in Middlebury, Vermont. Between 1953 and until his retirement in 1986, he built a prolific career as the director of frequency management at the Radio Corporation of America. In this capacity, Mr. Bowker was responsible for the development of color televisions, and collaboration with the Federal Communications Commission to ensure that each station joining the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) network was up to date and authorized to transmit color broadcasting.
In his career related endeavors, Mr. Bowker has written and published monthly columns on radio stations in the United States, edited electronic newsletters, and has created a video and edited three versions of history books regarding the subject of Sun City Center. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud to have developed a team that produced color televisions for public consumption and broadcasting. Mr. Bowker attributes much of his success to his home life, as well as the love and support of his wife and three children.
