With more than 50 years in the safety industry, Mr. Elias is a leader in promoting workplace safety. He was inspired to pursue his profession due to a natural desire to protect his fellow men, women and children. In 1970, Mr. Elias and his team were instrumental in developing the 911 emergency call number in the state of Ohio.
Mr. Elias served in the U.S. Air Force for four years (1951-1955) during the Korean War. He then attended Kent State University and earned a bachelor's degree in 1960. After working to improve safety for employees for many years, he became the owner of Pro-Am Safety in 1984 until his retirement in 2000. As the leader of the company, he would contact both small and large companies to help them improve protections and safety measures for their employees.

To remain aware of developments affecting his field, he aligns himself with the American Society of Safety Professionals and the Greater Cleveland Safety Council, and served as President of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
