Ms. Stephen has distinguished herself as a health care professional for more than 25 years. Presently, she serves as a case manager and registered nurse employed by Sunshine Health, where she specializes in both pediatrics and geriatrics. As part of her responsibilities, Ms. Stephen oversees a caseload of 40 children, through which she is tasked with coordinating care and ensuring they remain up to date with their wellness exams. She also works closely with the elderly population by assisting them with various tasks and providing them with resources so they are more likely to remain independent in their own homes, while also lessening the need for them to visit the emergency room.
A native of Haiti, Ms. Stephen was often encouraged by her mother to pursue an education and career in nursing. Over the years, she developed a passion for the field. However, it was not until she made her way to the U.S. in 1992 that she truly wanted to become a nurse, largely due to the high level of respect nurses are afforded in America. Ms. Stephen also found inspiration in her two older siblings – her brother is a physician, and her sister is a nurse practitioner.
Ms. Stephen holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from Miami Dade College in Miami, Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. In May 2022, she graduated from the Master Program in Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental-Health at Walden University. Prior to joining Sunshine Health, Ms. Stephen gained experience as a case manager and registered nurse for Humana Health Insurance.
Involved in charitable organizations, Ms. Stephen currently volunteers for Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief non-profit organization. For her tireless work ethic, she was recognized with a Team Leader Award from her organization. Looking toward the future, Ms. Stephen aspires to establish her own practice.
