NEW TAZEWELL, TN, August 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Maxine Coldiron Bray Snively has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Snively was a dedicated pharmacist for more than 32 years, spending the first 26 years in community pharmacy as a full time pharmacist. Having always had an affection for math and a desire to spend time assisting people, a friend encouraged her to pursue pharmacology to combine those passions. Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky. An expert in drug inspection later in her career, in 1997 she worked with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacist and drug inspector; she was the first female hired in this position. During her tenure, she survived a life-threatening MRSA infection in 2004, forcing her to leave that position. In 2005, Ms. Snively resumed her career as a relief pharmacist for several independent pharmacies, officially retiring in 2014.
She ensured that pharmacists were current regarding their licenses and continuing education, while also inspecting various sites for compliance to the law and to prevent unethical practices. Over the course of her career, she also dedicated her time to mentoring emerging professionals in the pharmacy field.
Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. Snively worked with young people, starting a Brownie Girl Scout Troop in her daughter's school and participated in 12 short-term religious missions in the United States and internationally through her church. She has done a variety of work on her mission trips, including construction work, ditch digging, filling prescriptions and providing direction for others on the mission. On her most recent mission trip, she helped to provide health care to the team mates on the mission.
