She completed a residency at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1987 and subsequently worked as a medical examiner for Child Protective Services. She also served as an educator in the nurse practitioner program at Loyola University and Louisiana State University.
Backed by years of professional excellence, Dr. Timpton presently excels as a medical doctor, administrator and chief executive officer of Medical Center of Gentilly. In her role as CEO, she manages all aspects of the private practice, oversees policies, procedures and medical records, and consults with patients with various diagnoses, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke. In order to remain current with industry trends, she aligns herself with the New Orleans and National Medical Associations and the Louisiana State Medical Society.
Dr. Timpton has devoted herself to the New Orleans Medical Association and Jack & Jill of America. While her career has been filled with standout moments, she is most proud of completing her residency program and forming an organization to help indigent populations, especially those affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Ida. She is also gratified to have taught nurse practitioners at three universities and contributed to her community.
