CINCINNATI, OH, August 23, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Miranda Sabrina Heard aka "Cookie Smith," has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Heard is recognized for her contributions to the community as president of Praise These Hands, a nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding the homeless. A compassionate person with a heart for service, Ms. Heard walked her journey as a child helping those in need. "I left Cincinnati, before I left to go to California. I was feeding the homeless for years after moving to California in 2013," she explained. Motivated by her own experience with homelessness for more than three years, she began preparing food in her own home and delivering it around the city to assist those without resources.
By Ms. Heard's estimation, one of the most notable contributors to her success is the Downtown Women's Center, an organization that assisted her by providing employment resources and services to assist her to overcome a challenge with speech. As a result, she was inspired to become involved in humanitarian endeavors in an effort to give back in the same way the Downtown Women's Center supported her. Moreover, Ms. Heard was inspired to establish Praise These Hands by her grandmother, Pearl Thomas, who set an example by helping to feed less fortunate people in her community. "Everything I have done I did with the help of my Father God and His Son Jesus with no money. I did what I was told to do."
Ms. Heard established Praise These Hands in 2020 and achieved its 501(c)(3) status as a nonprofit organization in 2022. Her efforts and the organization have been featured on WCPO TV, Spectrum News and Scripps Media, Inc. In the coming years, she plans to dedicate herself to grant proposals to purchase a physical location where she can assist her community more tangibly and effectively.
