MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL, August 23, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Elizabeth C. Adams has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Adams is recognized for her efforts as an envisioned entrepreneur and jewelry designer. In 2009, after losing her young daughter to a brain tumor, she established ExVotoVintage, a collection of one-of-a-kind and limited-edition jewelry that Ms. Adams creates from antique elements. The company markets and sells its products, including apparel and accessories, through its website, as well as several stores in Alabama and Florida. In memory of her daughter, Ms. Adams donates a portion of company's sales to The Cure Starts Now Foundation for pediatric brain cancer research.
Ms. Adams was inspired to embark on her career path by her parents, A. Phillip Coley and Betsy Coley, both of whom are artists. After her daughter's passing, painting and other forms of art acted as creative therapy for Ms. Adams, and she began creating mixed media collages, mixing broken pieces of antique jewelry and making pendants for herself. At the time, many of the galleries that displayed her work were struggling to sell art; however, jewelry was highly desired by patrons and as such, they offered to sell her creations. This experience ultimately led Ms. Adams to launch ExVotoVintage.
Throughout her career, Ms. Adams earned several awards, including Best Jeweler in the State of Alabama from Alabama Magazine in 2022, and Small Business of the Year honors from the Women's Committee of 100 for Birmingham Inc., in 2015. She has also been featured in publications, such as the Garden & Gun gift guide, Southern Living and InStyle.
Ms. Adams lives by the motto, "Seek beauty, cultivate gratitude, live creatively." In the near future, she aims to publish a book about her daughter's journey battling cancer. Additionally, she aspires to further expand her business and assume the role of creative director once it passes to the next owner.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Adams earned a bachelor's degree in education from Auburn University. She is a member of the Female Founder Collective and is an active supporter of The Cure Starts Now Foundation, The American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen, and the Texas Diaper Bank.
