PHOENIX, AZ, August 23, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kay Norris has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A leader in the nonprofit sector, Ms. Norris is the executive director of the Paradise Valley Community Food Bank, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization in Phoenix that has existed for 30 years. Overseeing the organization's daily operations, she is passionate about helping the surrounding communities and is grateful to have been allowed to serve in such a capacity. For more than two years, Ms. Norris has also established numerous positive connections and relationships that have benefited these many communities. In addition to her responsibilities as the executive director, she has served on the organization's board since 2010.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Norris aims to accomplish all of the organization's goals concerning expanding its services. Additionally, she plans to continue building on the food bank's mission as they continue to care for the many residents throughout the area. Over the past several years, the food bank had endured many challenges, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, when Ms. Norris lost approximately 40% of her volunteers to the lockdowns. The food bank never closed its doors during the pandemic; it has now resurged and continues to thrive with the assistance of many generous donors and volunteers.
Motivated to work in the nonprofit sector by her own life experiences, as well as the many individuals she has come to know over the years, Ms. Norris encourages others to become more involved with local charitable organizations. Previously she worked as a school teacher and had a real estate license for 20 years. She also garnered experience as a project manager for Camelot Homes, a local homebuilder for 5 years, worked as a family law paralegal for a small boutique law firm for 10 years, and served as the principal and owner of LifeTransitionsAZ, LLC for 10 years.
A dedicated civic advocate, Ms. Norris is a past president of the Paradise Valley Rotary Club, and was elected to serve as a board member and past president of the Paradise Valley Unified School District for 12 years. She also volunteers as the Local Outreach Volunteer Coordinator for Scottsdale Bible Church, Cactus Campus. Ms. Norris holds a Bachelor of Science in education from Arizona State University, which she attained in 1969.
