Most recently serving as the assistant director of education at MyComputerCareer, Dr. Said brings more than two decades of professional experience to the academic field. After beginning his career as a higher education curriculum manager at Southeast Essex College in 2000, he advanced to teaching information systems at John Bramston College in 2002. Furthermore, he served as a networking and Microsoft certification instructor at Bergen Community College between 2004 and 2005. Dr. Said likewise worked as a department chair at Anthem Institute from 2007 – 2010 and an associate professor and department chair at Volunteer State Community College, serving in the latter position from 2011 to 2021.
Committed to constant self-improvement, Dr. Said is determined to stay at the forefront of progression in his field, earning new degrees and introducing innovative educational methods to his students. After earning a Bachelor of Science in information systems in 1997, he achieved a Master of Science in computer science distributed systems from the University of Essex in 1999 and a Master of Arts in Christian Studies from Union University in 2014. He went on to earn a Doctor of Education in higher education and higher education administration from Union University in 2018 and a Doctor of Philosophy in theology and theological studies from Heritage International Bible College and Seminary in 2021. Dr. Said is presently in the process of earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian counseling from the same institution with an estimated graduation date of 2023.
Drawing upon a history of contributions to his industry, Dr. Said notably wrote and designed a Computer Information Technology degree for Volunteer State Community College upon joining their faculty, soon seeing the degree utilized by seven community colleges in Tennessee. A certified Microsoft Engineer, he has likewise been certified through the Cisco Networking Academy Program in CCNA I and 2. In addition to his professional endeavors, he is passionate about donating to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and his local church. Looking toward the future, Dr. Said plans to transition into academic instruction from administration, determined to improve the education system for the betterment of its students. He attributes much of his professional success to the support and encouragement of his wife, Connie Said.
