Dr. Dudzinski was named as the First Woman Participant of the US-USSR Joint Oceanographic Expedition to the Bering Sea of the Northern Pacific Ocean.

Now retired from her tenured position as a professor of biology at Washington State Community College, Dr. Dudzinski was an expert in marine biology, environmental biology and microbiology, as well as ecology. Recruited by the college to help establish the biology and nursing curriculum, she also had the unique opportunity of training high school and middle school teachers in methodology with the assistance of a grant. Dr. Dudzinski notably taught at the college from 1991 until 2012.
Prior to accepting her position at Washington State Community College, Dr. Dudzinski taught at several other institutions, including Ladycliff College, Pace University and Manhattan College. She also taught and chaired the departments of science and mathematics at the College of Santa Fe. In addition to her academic appointments, Dr. Dudzinski was a laboratory assistant and teaching fellow at Fordham University in New York between 1969 and 1974. She also notably worked as an environmental consultant for Environmental-Medical Laboratories in Ruston, Louisiana, between 1979 and 1980.
As a seasoned scholar and researcher in her field, Dr. Dudzinski has contributed her work in various peer-reviewed journals. She was also fortunate to receive an American Society of Science and Engineering Educators fellowship at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Ames Research Center during the summer months of 1982, 1983 and 1984 and had the ability to work on closed environment life support systems at Stanford University for the space station.
In retirement, Dr. Dudzinski concentrates some of her free time on serving the native Appalachian students that attend Washington State Community College. She also notably donated a scholarship for these students through a local foundation when it was first established. Dr. Dudzinski enjoys membership with several local organizations as well, including the Gannon University Heritage Society.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Dr. Dudzinski received a Bachelor of Science from Villa Maria College (now a part of Gannon University) in 1968 and a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy from Fordham University in 1970 and 1974, respectively. Dr. Dudzinski is also a certified powerboat pilot in the state of New York.
Dr. Dudzinski remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations to support her career, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Society of Microbiologists, the Pennsylvania Academy of Science, the American Institute of Biological Sciences and the American Society of Protozoologists. Dr. Dudzinski is also a member, former treasurer and former member of the board of directors of the New Mexico Network for Women in Science and Engineering and a member of Sigma Xi.
In recognition of her professional success, Dr. Dudzinski received a 50-Year Award from Gannon University in 2019. She also received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Villa Maria College in 1986. For her contributions as a researcher, Dr. Dudzinski was named as the First Woman Participant of the US-USSR Joint Oceanographic Expedition to the Bering Sea of the Northern Pacific Ocean. Additionally, she received numerous fellowships from NASA between 1982 and 1984, as well as grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and Eisenhower Education.
