Inspired by her high school class motto, "Nothing is impossible to a willing heart," as well as various role models including her father, Ms. Jenkins began a 25-year career in the business administration field at Raytheon Corporation, where she served as an assistant to the Vice President of Marketing. Following this appointment, she worked at Pitney Bowes Corporation for several years as assistant to the executive Director of Government and U.S. Postal Service Relations through which she made decisions in the director's absence and liaised with various government and United States Postal Service officials before her retirement from the corporate world.
In conjunction with her work as an assistant in the field of business, Ms. Jenkins excelled as a Realtor for nearly 25 years. Additionally, she spent most of her life as a community activist, and was appointed to serve on various county planning and land use committees. This included her disaster relief efforts in West Virginia after the flood of 1985 aided by the assistance of publicly recognized businessmen such as William Marriott of Marriott International and Jack Anderson, a well renowned reporter for The Washington Post. After her assistance with relief efforts, she wrote a 30 year anniversary book titled "Untold Stories of West Virginia Flood of 1985," which was published through Headline Books. Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Jenkins has also served as president and director of various local homeowners' associations, distribution of donations to various charitable groups and years as pianist and organist for her church.
An expert in her field, Ms. Jenkins studied business administration during the early stages of her career. To commemorate her accomplishments, she received an award, which was bestowed upon her by her peers, for her success in real estate. In a career filled with highlights, she is most proud of advancing in her field and fostering an outstanding reputation. Looking toward the future, Ms. Jenkins intends to utilize her considerable skill set to continue to contribute to her community and those less fortunate.
