Drawing on years of expertise in business, ministry and leadership, Mr. Wegner presently serves as a board member with Idaho Interfaith Power & Light. He is also a member of Healing Our Future, the Interfaith Equality Coalition and a lay leader the Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity in Meridian, Idaho. During the early stages of his career, he also gained valuable expertise as president of the Greater Milwaukee Evangelical Ministers Fellowship, as a vacation planner for the Walt Disney Company, and as a liaison to faith communities with Citizens' Climate Lobby.
Well regarded as an expert in his field, Mr. Wegner completed degree work at Wheaton College in 1970, and Denver Seminary in 1973. Alongside his work, he was an active member of the Winter Park Fellowship of Churches and Synagogues, serving three terms as president. In recognition of his outstanding body of work, he has received several awards, including the Partners in Excellence Award through the Walt Disney Company and recognition as the Driver of the Year through the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority.
While his career has been filled with standout moments, Mr. Wegner is most proud to have become the president of the Winter Park Fellowship of Churches and Synagogues, and to have been involved with a small group, through which he worked closely with people living with AIDS to secure fundraising. In accounting for his success, he credits the depth of his faith. Looking toward the future, Mr. Wegner intends to advocate for more effective climate change legislation.
