After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Guilford College in 1966, he received a JD from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Upon graduating, he was admitted to practice through the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina and the North Carolina Bar Association. Drawing on years of professional expertise, Mr. Morgan presently excels as a managing partner and attorney at law for Morgan, Herring, Morgan, Green & Rosenblutt LLP, where the firm specializes in estate planning, administration and more.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Mogan has also served as the chairperson for more than 75 charitable and local organizations, including High Point Legal Services, the High Point Economic Development Corporation, Guilford Education Alliance and the Guilford Inn of Court, as well as the American Bar Association. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Morgan aligns himself with several organizations, including the Guilford Technical Community College. Previously, he dedicated himself to the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, the International Home Marketing Authority, and the High Point Merchants Association.
He was the chairman of the High Point Community Foundation, YMCA Board of Trustees, Macedonia Project, Guilford Education Alliance and the Cornerstone Charitable Foundation.
Alongside his work in the field, Mr. Morgan is a certified lay speaker through the United Methodist Church and as a Sunday school teacher for Friendly, Big Brother and United Class. Over the years, he has also devoted himself to the Christ United Methodist Church, the J.V. and James F. "Jim" Morgan Justice Fund and the Cornerstone Foundation. In light of his outstanding body of work, he has been honored many times, earning the Philanthropist of the Year Award through the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Citizen Lawyer Award through the North Carolina Bar Association, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Arthritis Foundation and the Schiffman Leadership Award through Our State Magazine, just to name a few.
Though his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Morgan is most proud of serving as the president of the High Point Jaycees, becoming president of the North Carolina Jaycees, and being elected as a North Carolina legislator at the age of 32. Within the coming years, he intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career.
